October’s Autumn Adventures!
What a busy October we have had! The children have managed well with the longer days, staying until 1:55pm.
The boys and girls have continued to enjoy exploring the outdoors—making soups and stews in the mud kitchen, raking leaves, and breathing in the fresh autumn air.
We have been learning about hibernating animals in recent weeks and took part in some lovely play activities all about hedgehogs. We have been painting using a variety of materials and tools so far in P1 and last week that included painting with a fork! The forks made super spikes for our hedgehogs! We have also been learning about why the leaves change colour and fall from the trees in autumn - it’s all to do with saving energy for the winter! We used the fallen leaves to create our own character, just like in our story Leafman.
In literacy and numeracy, we’ve started learning initial sounds and number formation, supported by our 'Fine Motor Friday' activities to help strengthen our hand muscles.
This week, we’re diving into Hallowe’en fun and looking forward to the disco and pumpkin parade later in the week!
